Sometimes people ask why they should care about what other people have to say about Jesus. I’m sure that some people from her city thought the same thoughts regarding the woman at the well when she shared about her encounter with Jesus.

The question isn’t why her or why me. The question is why not you? Why not any of us? The God over all creation lives in us through His Holy Spirit.

The significance of any of our stories is they are a testimony of the grace and mercy of God. They are testimony of the intimacy of the Father as He tenderly cares for His children. They are a testimony of a love so great, so perfect, that it inspired God to send His Son to the cross to suffer and die for us. They are examples of God’s love, His goodness, and His forgiveness.

One time a lady overheard me sharing about the intimacy of God with a waiter at a restaurant. When I had finished, she asked, “Who are you? Are you a pastor or something?” I asked her if she was familiar with the story of Jesus and the woman at the well. She said, “Yes”. I responded, “I am just the woman at the well, telling others about my encounter with Jesus!”

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony.“ (John 4:39)

“The goodness of God leads you to repentance?” (Rom 2:4 NKJV)

we proclaim Jesus is Lord

“For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.” (2Cor 4:5-7)
