Ten Years Later: In Christ, Nothing Is Wasted

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1Pet 5:6-7)

As Christians, we are all on a journey of surrender. Each time we choose faith over fear and over pride, and each time we surrender our will to His, we take another step on that journey into fellowship with the Father.

There is a moment where the human spirit exhausts its own strength and must make a choice. For two long months after receiving a vision about our daughter, I lived in that tension. I was trapped in a relentless cycle: trying to shield my child as a protective father, while also carrying a revelation from God that required me to release her and set her free.

The struggle was exhausting, but it was also beautiful as I pressed into the intimacy of God’s presence.

“Peace doesn’t come from fighting the storm; it comes from relinquishing our illusion of control and trusting the One who is Lord over the storm.”

The breakthrough came the day I stopped trying to hold onto what was never mine to carry. In a quiet, deliberate act of faith, I stopped fighting the vision and committed Kristen entirely into the hands of the Father. In that moment of absolute surrender, everything shifted. The heavy weight of the burden was lifted, replaced with overwhelming intimacy, purpose, and peace that flooded my soul.

Moving from the struggle to peace requires an active choice of surrender. It means accepting that we do not have to understand the road ahead to trust the One who is leading the way. When we stop trying to control the outcome, we finally give God the space to prove that He is so much more than just a historical Savior—He is our current, living source of strength.

If you are exhausted from fighting your circumstances today, let go of the reins and trust God. You cannot force peace through striving. It is waiting for you on the other side of surrender, in the quiet assurance that in Christ, nothing is ever wasted.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1Pet 5:6-7)
